Shiretoko Goko Lakes

Shiretoko Goko Lakes is a tourist attraction that represents Shiretoko, a World Natural Heritage Site. You can see five lakes surrounded by old growth forest, the mountains of Shiretoko, and traces of wildlife such as Hokkaido Sika Deer and brown bears. Walking around promenade with Nature Guide will double the fun.

It is the entrance to the promenade around Shiretoko Goko Lakes, where you can walk and give lectures. There is a rest area in the adjacent Park Service Center, which also sells souvenirs and snacks.

An elevated wooden path with a total length of about 800m and can be freely reached to the shores of Lake Ichiko. You can easily experience the charm of Shiretoko Goko Lakes, such as the Shiretoko Mountain Range reflected in the lake and the Sea of Okhotsk spreading far away.

Utoro Silietok, located at the gateway to Shiretoko, is a popular spot that is ranked high in the roadside rest area rankings in Hokkaido throughout the year. There are shops lined with specialty products unique to Shiretoko and restaurants where you can enjoy meals, making it a recommended roadside rest area that is easy to access sightseeing spots. You can taste cute pink momo soft.

Flepe Falls

Flepe Falls is a rare waterfall with no river upstream called a submerged waterfall, which flows out of a cliff of about 100m and flows down. The amount of water is small throughout the year, and it is nicknamed "Tears of the Maiden" because of the water that spills down with Jolo. You can walk along the promenade from Shiretoko Nature Center to observation deck.

The promenade, which is about 1 km one way to the observation deck of the Flepe Falls, is able to enjoy the remnants of the pioneering forest and sometimes encounter the Hokkaido Sika Deer flocks. There are many cafes and shops inside the building, and there is also an introduction to the flora and fauna that inhabits Shiretoko, as well as an Osako power theater where you can get a glimpse of nature with images.

Located along the Shiretoko Crossing Road, observation deck is the best spot in Hokkaido where you can fully enjoy the magnificent nature throughout the four seasons. You can see Rausu-dake, the main peak of the Shiretoko volcano group rising in the middle of the Shiretoko Peninsula right in front of you.

roadside rest area is famous as a station with beautiful scenery, where you can enjoy the magnificent scenery of Lake Kussharo. There is a shop corner that sells local specialties and sightseeing souvenirs, as well as a restaurant where you can enjoy the specialty of Bihoro Pass, "ageimo", as well as a restaurant.

From the back side of the roadside rest area to the observation deck at the top of the Bihoro Pass, you can see the scenery of Eastern Hokkaido, such as Lake Kussharo, Japan's largest Caldera lake, and the Mt. Io, the Wako Peninsula, and the Shiretoko Mountains. It is a recommended scenic spot where you can overlook the magnificent sea of clouds when the weather conditions are met.

Lake Mashu Third observation deck

Located in the highest place in the observation deck of Lake Mashu, you can see the beautiful "Mashu Blue" on sunny days. On the deep blue lake surface, the only island that floats like a kubo is Kamuish Island. Kamuish means "old woman who became God" in Ainu language.

Mashu-ko Dai-1 Observatory

There is a rest house at the first observation deck, where you can find many souvenirs and gourmets. We also recommend the popular product "Lake Mashu Specialty Imo Dango" and "Mashu Blue Soft", which can only be eaten here. Perfect for a break while enjoying the spectacular view of the magnificent Lake Mashu and the Nekusu Plateau spreading on the back.
